The 21 Day Fix program includes color-coded, multi-sized containers that correspond with different food groups. After doing a little math with your current weight, your exercise needs, and your weight-loss deficit the program shows you how many of each container you should be using each day. What’s great about this is that there is no measuring and they are super portable! There is a little planning that is involved though. In order to make it to dinner without any containers left, you need to plan out your day, or week, in advance. Lucky for you, I’ve already done my first week and you can use the plan :)
My school is awesome enough to provide us with a buffet style lunch each day, including a fabulous salad bar! I just take my assigned containers with me and fill them with the goodies that match each color. Typically I have a green salad (1 green), tuna (1 red), sunflower seeds (1 orange), with balsamic vinegar as dressing (free) with a side of fruit (1 purple). The containers make it so easy to know I’m not over eating or eating too much of one food group.
Now for the fun part – recipes!! This week we had stuffed peppers, chicken stir-fry, and a crockpot pork loin. All of these delicious recipes are found on my recipe page and have a container equivalent listed.
If you are someone that struggles with nutrition, portion control, planning, not liking what is on a meal plan, this is the program for you. In just 4 days, I’ve already lost 5 pounds and know friends who have lost up to 15 pounds in the three weeks that this program takes. It is not a quick fix, it truly teaches you how to eat to nourish your body, satisfy your hunger, and take back your health!
